In My Own Words: Your Beauty That I See

By: Alex J. Nagem © May 6, 2025

These photos were captured on a quiet morning walk through Oglebay Park with my wife, Lori, and our little dog, Zoe.

I wake each morning with excitement
to see Your creation,
the beauty You lay before me, Lord-
dew on blades of grass like pearls,
light brushing the edge of dawn
as if the sky were shy to speak.

I look to the sky to see Your face,
painted in hues no hand could match.
I am in awe of what You create—
each cloud a breath, each ray a touch,
the world reborn with every sun.

My soul is quiet in Your presence,
my heart lifted by what I cannot name.

You give me more than morning light—
You give me meaning
in the way the earth unfolds,
in the stillness between sounds,
in the rhythm of breath and breeze.

And so, I rise, not from habit,
but from awe,
to meet the day you’ve made anew,
to walk among your masterpiece.
