My mind is uneasy,
The body stressed,
I gaze upon Your crucifix
As I lay to rest.
You sacrificed Your body,
Endured pain that was mine,
How can I repay You?
I have failed many times.
You’ve shown me boundless mercy,
Far beyond what I deserve,
I’ve strayed and caused You sorrow,
Following every selfish curve.
I come with a heart surrendered,
No pride or strength to claim,
Just ashes in my spirit,
And hope in Your name.
I beg Your forgiveness
For the wrongs I have done,
I lay broken before You,
I am the prodigal son.
I see You in the distance,
Hands waving and running fast,
I stumble into Your open arms,
I am home with you, Jesus, at last.
St. Augustine Quote:
“Because God has made us for Himself, our hearts are restless until they rest in Him.”
Vocatus Atque Non Vocatus Deus Aderit
